MERROWING THREADS For MERROW EQUIPMENT

Threads can have a huge impact on the aesthetic and performance of your stitch.

Each thread serves a different purpose and requires different characteristics.

·       The UPPER LOOPER THREAD is the beautiful thread. It wraps around the edge and must create the desired aesthetic.  Important characteristics of this thread are color, size and durability.  We recommend the Merrow Thread made by A&E.  This thread is a bright shiny floss like thread.

·       The LOWER LOOPER THREAD is the strong thread.  It pulls the Upper Looper Thread around the edge of the patch and must withstand the most tension.  Important characteristics of this thread are durability and strength.  We recommend the AMANN Transfil Thread.  This is a clear thread that avoids the time-consuming project of changing out multiple colors of thread as well as cost effective.

·       The NEEDLE THREAD.  It holds the Looper threads in place and maintains the integrity of the stitch.  Important characteristics of this thread are a low profile and durability.  We recommend the AMANN Saba Thread Tex 30 Thread for color matching or AMANN Transfil Thread Tex 35. (Using clear makes it so you don’t have to change the needle thread out for every color.)
